I'm just wondering if they still drop.. I've heard from many people both versions that they do... and they don't.. I recently heard of an alliance member opening a chest in hard mode factions near the vermin and getting a req 7 Crennelated blade.. but I never knew if that was real or not as I asked to see the blade but never go around to seeing it.. I used to get req 8 drops I know from chest runs.. but Im not sure i've seen any lately.. is it that they "Dont drop at all" Or they do just alot more rare then they used to?

Anyone have any info on if req 8 and 7 items still drop or not at all?

If you got a req 8 drop recently, post it here.. my roomate has a req 8 Inscrib kornan defender he bought from someone once.. so I know req 8 inscr shields exist.. but do req 8 inscr swords , axes spears ect?

I looked for other threads but im blind I cant seem to find any others discussing req 8 and 7 items.

I asked this question in the Q&A section a few days ago, and the answer is "yes".

Req 8 inscribable shields/focuses/caster weapons are relatively common and definitely contineu to drop.

Req 8 weapons are a bit more rare, but they definitely exist, especially in blue or purple form. I'm not sure if many of these are from the rarer areas (e.g. Urgoz's Warren, The Deep, The HoH Chest, The Zaishen Chest), but they definitely still drop.

Yesterday I got a Req 8 Inspiration Magic Jeweled Chalice from a monster in Cathedral of Flames. It was inscribable...

Damn, why do things like that only fetch about 100 gp? -.-

What I want to know is whether anyone has seen a req 7 or 8 Scythe or Spear...I've never seen either of those.

Yep, i get r8 max item every so often, but they are all focuses ever since NF ... not a single weapon or shield

i got req8 non insc monk off hand while i was doing Bloodstone Fewn HM... it was crap, so merched it, but still MAx and REQ8!

the truth is here:

max req.7s don't drop anywhere at all since NF release.

max req.8s do drop, they replaced the req.7s.

Basically if an item could drop as req.7 before NF it can now drop as req.8. The reason many people don't find any req.8s nowadays but did find r7s in the past is that they farm different spots or use HardMode.

Req.8s today:

Shields and foci are most common of them, I got some myself.
Swords are rare but still drop, I've seen some r8 inscribables (including a Fellblade, I couldn't believe first as I knew they never dropped as r7, but it's absolutely normal, it just dropped in NF)
Axes and Hammers were uber rare as req.7s, an early update could have removed possibility of their drops entirely, thus I haven't seen any single one post NF req.8
Bows, Staves, Wands, Daggers never dropped as max req.7 so they don't drop req.8 now.
Scythes and Spears were introduced in NF and never had r7 nor r8 max versions.

I bought Inscribed chakram +12 ene req8 (Domination Magic) inscr and gold of course. It dropped few days ago for him. So i think req 8 weaponss till drop. I doubt about req 7 gold weapons still dropping.

The only req8 items I've ever gotten are junk caster items, save for a single req8 ivory bow long ago. Otherwise, it's all either non-max or 10+

But, then, I have the most abhorred luck at getting any useful drops at all in this game, so YMMV.

I've got a few req8 offhands while vanquishing GWEN, but no req8 weapons. I also didn't get a single req8 item from last 2000 HM chest I ran so I doubt they even drop from chest anymore.

My most recent R8 was a illusion magic chimeric eye, inscribable and all that. Otehr than that, I find lots of R8 whites when I'm chopping my way through Tyria.

This is incorrect as it relates to wands...I have seen many wands with a req 8 that have dropped recently that are inscribable.

Yah my only req 8 drops now have been Nf rare skinned flame artifact though they are blue, and one req 8 shield of the wing which was also blue.

Though a few months ago I got a req 8 gothic axe cr in factions was 15^50 XD

also incorrect for daggers, as i had gold req8 Kris Daggers... were without inherent mod but still gold and max damage. Got them after NF release

Nope haven't seen them drop ever. They likely don't exist. I'd kill for a max inscribable req7/8 spear though. Req7 gold max damage items of any kind no longer drop. Req8 max damage items both inscribable and non-inscribables do drop. The non-inscribables are more rare than their inscribable counterparts.

I can confirm that there is max gold req7 staves.
